Steak Cold Searing

Reference

Ideal Steak: 1.5 inches thick

Caveat: No salting right before the cooking

  • Step 0: Season with black pepper
  • Step 1: Put the steak in the cold pan, no oil, high heat
  • Step 2: Flip after 2 minutes, and another 2 minutes with high heat
  • Step 3: Reduce the heat, gentle sizzle, no smoke or splatter
  • Step 4: Flip every 2 minutes utill ready
  • Step 5: Rest for 5 minutes before cutting
